Enhanced Capabilities in the Resource Allocation Wizard

Resource Allocation Wizard is a powerful application designed to streamline resource allocation and workload management within projects. It provides project managers with an intuitive interface to track, plan, and optimize employee workload effectively. This tool enables organizations to maximize productivity while ensuring fair workload distribution.

Result

1. Dynamic Text Color for Fact Workload

To enhance workload visualization, fact hours are now color-coded according to a specific scale:

  • Fact workload < Planned workload → Fact workload appears red on the monthly tab.
  • Fact workload > Planned workload → Fact workload appears black on the monthly tab.
  • Fact workload now includes a percentage display, ensuring clarity in workload comparison.

 

2. Diagram Legend in Capacity Contact Component

A new diagram legend has been added to the Capacity Contact component, improving visibility into workload distribution:

  • When hovering over an employee’s workload, a popup window now appears, displaying a detailed breakdown of their workload in percentages for both monthly and weekly views.
  • Title added: "Workload for the viewed period"
  • Additional text for each project: "of 100% for the viewed period"


 

3. Alphabetical Sorting of Project Names

Project names are now automatically sorted alphabetically, ensuring a more structured and organized view.


 

4. Notes Field for Each Project Entry

  • Users can now add multiple comments per project entry.
  • Each comment is displayed with its timestamp, allowing for better tracking of updates.


 

5. Curator Display

Curator information is now displayed when hovering over an employee’s name, showing the assigned curator and their full name.


 

6. FTE Size Display

FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) Indicator: If an employee is working on a part-time basis (e.g., 0.5 FTE), their workload values will display the FTE fraction above them.

The field can only be filled with a value from 0 to 1. In the Capacity tool, information is displayed only if FTE is less than 1.


 

7. Alphabetical Sorting of Employees

  • Employees are now sorted alphabetically, improving accessibility and making it easier to locate specific personnel.


 

These new features enhance the usability of the Resource Allocation Wizard, ensuring a more efficient resource allocation process and improving overall project management effectiveness.
