Resource Allocation Wizard is a powerful application designed to streamline resource allocation and workload management within projects. It provides project managers with an intuitive interface to track, plan, and optimize employee workload effectively. This tool enables organizations to maximize productivity while ensuring fair workload distribution.
At our company, we not only offer our internal tools to clients, but also actively use them ourselves. This approach allows us to continuously improve the product based on real, daily user experience. The Resource Allocation Wizard is no exception.
Project scope:
In our March release, we focused on improving the usability and clarity of the Resource Allocation Wizard, helping users navigate and plan their team’s workload even more efficiently.

Result
1. Week/Month Selection Now Reflected in the URL
We’ve added the ability to save and share the currently opened week or month view directly in the URL.
This improvement allows users to easily return to specific planning periods or share direct links with colleagues.
Hint: In the monthly view, 4 weeks are displayed, and the week we are interested in will always be the third one.
2. Date Picker Calendar
A new Date Picker has been developed, allowing users to jump to specific weeks or months with a single click.
This streamlines navigation and eliminates the need to scroll through multiple views to find the right time frame.
3. Font Color Legend
We’ve introduced a legend that explains the meaning behind different font colors used in the Resource Allocation Wizard.
This ensures users always understand the context behind visual elements, improving accuracy and reducing confusion.
4. Integration vacations from LeavePlanner into Resource Allocation Wizard
We've also completed an integration with the Leave Planner. Now, when an employee requests time off through the Leave Planner, their vacation dates are automatically populated in the Resource Allocation Wizard. This ensures up-to-date workload visibility and eliminates the need for manual entry.
These new features enhance the usability of the Resource Allocation Wizard, ensuring a more efficient resource allocation process and improving overall project management effectiveness.
