Flow is a powerful instrument in Salesforce® and a great tool to automate your processes without coding, so most commonly used by Salesforce administrators. At the end of 2022, Salesforce will be retiring Workflow Rules and Process Builder automation and you won’t be able to create a new one. So it is a point to create now all automation using Flow and transfer your Workflow Rules and Process Builders to flows.

Flows is not the simplest automation tool in Salesforce®, but has more effectiveness. There are some features of the Flow automation tool:

  • Creating, updating, and deleting records;
  • Collecting input from external users with an online form;
  • Sending emails;
  • Sending custom notifications;
  • Sending surveys;
  • Running another flow in the context of the current flow;
  • Access external systems;
  • Calling a custom invocable action built with APEX;
  • Sending outbound messages.

 

The main advantage of using the Flow Automation tool is that you have a range of useful features and can build and automate business processes and solve different problems without developers and coding.

There are a lot of tasks that Flow can fix in Salesforce®, for example, you need automation to remove followers from Closed Opportunity or you need to automate posting Opportunity details to a Chatter group. In cases like these, you can create flows and automate such processes. So in simple and hard business processes Flow will help you and you don’t need the developer’s help and coding knowledge to meet such issues.
